What do you pay for trades?

$10. I have a personal rule that I dont buy any stock unless it's at least $300 worth to compensate for the trade price. I actually bought $300 worth of PIR which is about 500 shares.

I use sharebuilder because it's linked to my ING savings accounts.

I didnt read anything saying it was, think it's just anything related to housing has been decimated.

Can you buy any stock with sharebuilder? I thought sharebuilder was cheaper btw, like 6.99?

yes it's a full investment site, stocks, funds, whateva. It's $10 for real time trades, or you can schedule like bi-weekly/monthly purchases of a specific stock for $4. I have Schwab too, bit it's $12 a trade so I just use sharebuilder. I like it alot, very user friendly.

I use Sharebuilder, too, btw. Basically went with them because I already had an ING savings account, so I figured I might as well try their stock trading program, too.

With $10 to buy and $10 to sell, though, you have to figure that your costs are already almost 7% of your outlay. So you have to make more than 7% to break even. I try to avoid buying less than $2000 of a stock, so at least my costs are only 1%. I usualy make an exception with options, though.

Having said that...nice trade! Smile

Yea grats also. I think that's its interesting that WFC keeps showing the world that they are managing just fine. What Dustie said in previous post. They didnt take the gamble / greed approach. I think there are allot more banks out there that didnt go down the greed path.

Good news for the whole economy in my opinion.

The only worry would be that Wells is announcing this great news to offset some bad news in terms of the stress test. Remember, the chairmain just called the stress test "asinine" a few weeks ago.

I'm still holding my Wells in my real life 401K and stock accounts. It is trading above book value finally so I'm probably not going to buy any more since there are other stocks that are still cheap out there.

Updated results on first page. Latest rankings here:

Players (as of end of day 4-09-09)
1 (3) $159,305 (+59%) Vanraw
2 (1) $157,246 (+57%) Zephyrs
3 (2) $155,298 (+55%) Grizzle (backdated)

4 (6 ) $144,450 (+44%) Bonestomper
5 (4) $140,477 (+40%) Dustie
6 (9) $134,901 (+34%) Thudz
7 (5) $134,315 (+34%) amins
8 (11) $132,660 (+33%) Grieve
9 (10) $128,829 (+29%) Hoofhurr
10 (8 ) $127,550 (+28%) Breand
11 (7) $124,767 (+25%) Venganza

12 (12) $100,000.00 ( - ) Slamz

We have a new leader! Maul storms to the lead even though he has $45k stuck in cash, with Ford his star performer. Bonestomper is also having a stella run, riding his HOGs all the way up to 4th. Thudz's gun plays continue to perform (probably 'cos he's single-handedly buying up all their stock), and I finally haul myself up from near-bottom (kind of embarrassing what with me starting this whole thing), with the financials pushing me up almost $18k today.

Dustie continues to kick himself for not believing enough in Wells (he'd have $227k if he'd stuck with his gut!), and amins also picked a unfortunate day to cash out.

Regardless, we're all making freakin' boatloads of cash (except Slamz, of course... :winkSmile Let's hope the market can keep it up.
