As a father, I thought this photo by a Google engineer using the glasses was probably the most compelling argument for it yet:

When you are a parent, there's a lot of moments you wish you had a camera ready for, but by the time you've dug out your camera (or switched to the camera app on your phone), it's too late. Or maybe you don't have any hands free, like this. Of course, you could replace "parent" with "voyeur" or "pervert" in those sentences too, which is one of the problems Google will have. Still, especially if they really can figure our a way to put this in a contact lens, I'm in.
Then again, the first batch are for Google I/O conference developers only and are $1500 a pop...
