Tv advice!?

Slamz Wrote:Even standard to HD is too much for a lot of TV. A lot of shows that looked perfectly find in SD look cheesy in HD. Like the quality of the makeup, lighting and props was good enough for SD but HD just brought out the flaws.

HD is great for high-budget stuff, especially CGI, but a lot of stuff looks worse in HD.

Hah, this is sooo true.

After getting my 70' I was watching some blue ray's and it was amazing the amount of detail you can see. In Close Encounters you can read postit notes and street names when Richard Dryfes is in his truck looking at a map.

When I put in my Star Trek regular DVD's and was watching some Voyager or DS9 it looked like I had stepped back in the 70's watching Sigmund and Seamonsters on video tape. You can see so many flaw's not only in make-up but the sets are no longer sellable as a space ship.

Even film doesn't translate well at present resolutions. Things were produced to translate from film to the screen and that is just no longer is good enough for today's home resolutions.

Ironically black and white films still translates well digitally. Twilight Zone looks better today then it ever has while Star War's isn't even watchable with out laughing.
