(I'm assuming anyone reading this has either seen the first season or doesn't care about spoilers)
Cat is horrible to anyone who isn't her husband or children - especially to poor Jon Snow who never did anything to her but be born - and if you're watching the show you'll see very shortly just how mean and cruel a person Arya really is (unless HBO chickens out and cuts some of it).
Ned was good-ish, bastard child aside, and that got Robert killed and Ned executed for treason.
I'd argue that Brienne of Tarth is genuinely good. Ironically the closest person to Sansa's dear "true knight" is a woman. Of course, this again comes with the disclaimer that I'm only about 3/4ths of the way through the third book.

You don't win the Game of Death by dying first. The name is misleading.
