2013 - how did you do? - Grieve - 01-01-2014 Great years for stocks. Horrible year for me. ☺ Mostly due to the blatant and shameful global conspiracy against AAPL (which obviously should be worth at least $1000), I got taken out to the woodshed, beaten with a rubber tube, kneecapped, and shot in the back of the head (not to mention losing my house to Jake). Here’s how the various markets did. Bad year to be in anything but equities. Should have just gone all in with TNA... Code: S&P 500 29.60%Re: 2013 - how did you do? - Vanraw - 01-01-2014 The Russel 2k kicked my ass a little. The market did better than I did, since I had several bets on corrections that never happened. Howerver, my 401k and Roth funds did extremely well. Re: 2013 - how did you do? - Breand - 01-02-2014 Big winners for me: 1 Year gains: HIMX 408.24% FAS up 105.62% C 25.92% PGH 21% (but down big overall for me) Big losers: NEM -49% SLV -33.5% GLD -27.7% But my favorite has to be my son's college fund: POAGX 54.88% Re: 2013 - how did you do? - Grieve - 01-02-2014 Wow, I have my kids' college money in the wrong funds... I'm sure that helped. Re: 2013 - how did you do? - Arsilon - 01-03-2014 401k: +25.4% IRA: +18.4% Personal: +13.1% Of course this is based on Fidelity's personal rate of return calculation which I have no idea how they actually calculate it. If anyone knows let me know. Re: 2013 - how did you do? - Grieve - 01-04-2014 Yeah, I counted on Fidelity's report for my 401k, and Etrade's report for my trading accounts. I wouldn't be surprised if they lean towards the positive - after all, they want to keep your business. I guess they couldn't find a way to put lipstick on my -66% option trading account pig (actually my Roth IRA), though.
