Damn! I knew they'd come out with a better one I just didn't think they'd do it so soon after the Kindle 2 launched.

It's the Kindle 2 with a much bigger screen.
I would have totally bought that had I not already bought a Kindle 2 like last month.

My buddie bought a kindle to take with him to Iraq. I thought it was cool, but I just don't know if I can shell out the money for one. When I'm reading for the pleasure of reading, I like having a good ol' fashioned book with good ol' fashioned paper pages to turn.
This new one definitely looks like an improvement though.
This thing would have been freakin awesome for grad school research though. I still have a file cabinet full of old articles I had to photocopy. It would have saved hundreds of trees to have them scanned and uploaded instead of photocopied.

You know you cant chase technology ![Smile Smile](https://thepurge.net/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif) . It does seem that since its so soon after the kindle 2, that they would somehow have a trade in or rebate....
Something like Apple did when the new iPhone came out.
I have to say that that is very cool. How do I find out if my local news paper is included?

Does the current or the new unit have Blue Tooth support for headsets?

I wouldn't be too ticked. I would say that some people might prefer the smaller package of the Kindle 2.
"Hamilton is really a Colossus to the anti republican party. Without numbers he is an host within himself. They have got themselves into a defile where they might be finished but too much security on the republican part will give time to his talents and indefatigableness to extricate them. We have had only middling performances to oppose to him. In truth when he comes forward there is nobody but yourself who can meet him. His adversaries having begun the attack he has the advantage of answering them and remains unanswered himself. I dunno -- it's already too big to fit in a pocket, so I say you might as well go for the bigger screen.
I'm still happy with the K2, but I can definitely see where the bigger screen would be good for web browsing, or if they wanted to do Kindle editions of graphic novels (manga/comic books) which might be cool.
As far as I can tell, no Kindle has any blue tooth support. Though if it came down to it I imagine you could find some doodad that converts any standard stereo out into a bluetooth device.

Yea the are USB devices for blue tooth. Just having a dongle hanging out of seem like a kludge.

This one is aimed more at the textbook market - the K2 is better formatted for a regular novel. I dunno if $130 extra is worth it for more size and PDF...
